These hook earrings are a take on a chandelier earring, featuring copper-enameled forms with handmade swirled, silver tassles. The center of each earring is created with copper mesh, mimicking the airyness of a leaf. The color is a warm rich coppery orange, with red and yellow gradients. The hooks and tassles are lightly oxidized to tone down the silver and let the colors shine.
Your piece was cut by hand from a sheet of copper. Layers of powdered glass enamel were sprinkled on. Then the pieces were fired in a kiln to melt the glass and heat up the copper, fusing the two together. The backside is covered with a solid black enamel.
