This statement pendant is strong and soft all at once. A dendritic agate hangs from a hinge under layers of faceted hammered details, framed above and below with sculptural water cast elements. The slow swing of the hinge and the soft layers surrounding it give it the feel of a gentle winter day, when snow blankets and softens the world.
Water cast outside in a ravine, the sculptural piece that tops this necklace and the pieces below the stone were created by melting silver to a liquid state and then pouring it into the chilly brook to freeze it in place, in motion. You can watch them being made here. The process is unpredictable and can never be exactly replicated making your piece truly one-of-a-kind.
